Rose Story Farm began in 1998, when the family owners decided to try growing 1000 rose bushes on a half acre of their lemon and avocado farm. They imagined an old-fashioned rose farm, with the radiant hues of European and pre-1950 American varieties in bloom across their 15 acre Carpinteria Valley farm.

Can you imagine an America where no pet is killed in a shelter again simply for being unwanted? NKLA can. Led by Best Friends Animal Society, the NKLA initiative is poised to serve as a model for how the entire nation can become no-kill, with no pet ever having to die in a shelter again simply because they do not have a home. Since the launch of NKLA in 2012, the number of pets being killed in L.A. city shelters has decreased by 82%.
